Accepting these terms
These terms apply when you use the Riverstone Garden City Concrete website, ask us for an estimate or hire us for concrete work. By using the site or booking work with us, you agree to them.
If a written estimate or contract for your job says something different from this page, the written estimate or contract controls for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or book work with us.
What we do
We're a concrete contractor in Garden City, KS. We do flatwork like driveways, patios, sidewalks and garage floors, along with stamped and decorative concrete, steps, pool decks, retaining walls, footings, slab foundations, foundation raising, concrete cutting and parking lots. You can see our full list on the home page and read more about our crew on the About page.
The site gives general information about concrete work so you can plan your project. It isn't a promise that a given method, finish or timeline fits your property. We confirm those details in person, because the soil, drainage and existing slab on your lot decide what the job needs.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free, given in person, and you're under no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure at the visit, including the size of the area, the slab thickness, the base under it, access for equipment and the finish you choose.
Some conditions only show once the old concrete is out, such as soft or wet soil under the slab, buried roots or debris, or pipes and lines in the way. If we find something that changes the work or the price, we'll stop and talk with you before going further, and any change is agreed in writing or by text or email before we do it.
Prices on an estimate are good for the period written on it. After that, material costs may have changed, so we may need to update the figure before scheduling.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We schedule your pour once you've accepted the estimate. Concrete depends on the weather, so we may move a pour if rain, high wind, freezing temperatures or extreme heat would weaken the finished slab, and we'll reschedule with you as soon as we can.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the waiting period while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and drive on, and damage from using it sooner isn't covered by us.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us at (620) 315-5440 as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials, scheduled a concrete delivery or started work, you may owe for the costs we've already taken on, as set out in your estimate or contract.
Payment
Your estimate or contract states the total price, any deposit and when each payment is due. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid. Unpaid balances may also be subject to the collection rights Kansas law gives contractors, including a lien on the property where the work was done.
Your property and the job site
You agree to give our crew and our delivery trucks safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything we can't see, such as sprinkler lines, buried cables, septic systems or property line disputes. You're responsible for confirming where your property lines are and for any rules your homeowners association sets.
Some jobs need a permit. We'll talk through whether yours does at the estimate, and you agree to check with the city when we tell you a permit question needs an answer before work starts.
Heavy trucks and equipment can leave marks on lawns and soft ground near the work area. We try to keep that to a minimum, and we'll point out at the estimate where it's likely to happen.
Our work and warranty disclaimers
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the finished job isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it with you.
Concrete is a natural material, and some things about it are normal and aren't defects. Small hairline cracks can form even in a well-built slab, and control joints, the grooves we cut into the surface, are there so cracks follow a straight line instead of wandering. Color, texture and finish can also vary a little from section to section and from any sample or photo.
We aren't responsible for damage caused by things outside our work, including soil movement under areas we didn't prepare, water from gutters or drainage you control, deicing salts, overloading the slab with vehicles or equipment heavier than it was built for, or alterations made by others.
Apart from the guarantee described here and anything written in your contract, our services and this website are provided as is, without other warranties, to the extent Kansas law allows.
Limitation of liability
We're fully licensed and insured for the work we do. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway during curing, delays caused by weather or suppliers, or information on this website that turns out not to fit your situation. Nothing here limits any right you have that Kansas law doesn't allow a business to limit.
Resolving disagreements
If you're unhappy with any part of our work or these terms, please contact us first so we can try to fix it directly. Most problems get settled faster with a site visit than with paperwork.
If we can't settle it together within a reasonable time, either of us may take the matter to a court with jurisdiction over Garden City, Kansas.
Governing law
These terms, and any work we do for you, are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a job already covered by a signed estimate or contract unless we both agree to them.
Questions about these terms
If you have a question about these terms or your job, call us at (620) 315-5440 or send us a message through our Contact page. We're available Monday through Sunday, 6 AM to 11 PM, and you can expect a reply within 1 business day.
